Family Friendly?

So, we are on a very relaxing vacation with close friends in Virginia. Tonight, we thought that we would take the kids for a fun, "family friendly" trip to Karaoke night. My friend's girls prefer the songs, "Living on a Prayer" and "Eye of the Tiger". My kids prefer "American Pie". However, we arrived to find this night to be in a "lounge-type", alcohol flowing setting, much to our surprise. Interesting place to take an 8 year old, two 7 year olds, and a 5 year old. But, 1 was ready to sing. My 2, of course, would have no part of singing their song in front of a number of restaurant attendees (by the way we weren't allowed to "sit" unless we were eating), but was willing to help their friend although they knew very little of "Living on a Prayer". The best part of the night is that while we were waiting for our song, we heard several "family friendly" songs about "a girl kissing a girl and liking it" as well as some songs with choice words and "sad" songs involving remedies involving cocaine and alcohol. I guess we all have different meanings of the words "family friendly". . .BUT, at least they clapped, hooted, and hollered for the girls. My friend's daughter said to my girls as we were leaving, "We're famous now!".
